PONDA: Last year the road leading to KTC Bus Stand and RTO Office Ponda causes great inconvenience not only to Bus Drivers bus also to pedestrians, college students. It also caused lot of hardhship to vehicle riders visiting at RTO office for their official work.
Viraj Sapre social worker said highlighting the road condition through news the authorities had repaired the road couple of month ago with patchwork however recent heavy rain had led to worsening of road condition and again the potholes are developed where the patchwork was done. The KTC road condition now appears to be similar one that was one year ago.
The bus stand is used by interstate buses and several buses with thousands of passengers visit this busstand express unhappiness over lack to its maintenance.
When a KTC Bus stand staff at Control room was asked they said they had requested PWD long back for hotmix carpeting.
Meanwhile the 30 year old KTC Bus Stand shed is already declared unsafe for use and closed for shelter of passengers as it is on verge of collapse. The small temporary shed is erected for passengers to protect from rain and sun but passengers says it’s too small for them and many of them faces hardhsip in rain. The passengers , bus drivers demanded attention of authorities and solve the problem on urgent basis.
Meanwhile the KTC Officials said the repair of KTC Bus Stand shed is progressing and after completion of work it can be used by passengers for taking shelter.
When asked Executive Engineer Sadana Shet Bandekar divison eighteen , She said soon road would be repaired. We had sent proposal for repairs of road at Higher Authorities and waiting for approval. We are constantly doing follow up on matter.
