Agacaim: In a shocking road rage incident, a 25-year-old man has been booked by the Agacaim Police for allegedly chasing, threatening, and vandalising a woman’s car using a chopper on National Highway 66.
According to police, the complaint was lodged on August 1 by a woman from Colva, South Goa. She alleged that on July 29, while driving from Margao to Porvorim, she was followed by a Mercedes ML 350 CDI (Reg. No. GA-03-P-4024) from near Kesarval Hotel up to the Goa Velha bypass. The accused, identified as Ainsley Fernandes, son of Alberto Fernandes, a resident of Bootlem, Seraulim, and another unidentified male occupant of the car, allegedly blocked her vehicle and began threatening and damaging it.
The complainant stated that the accused forcibly stopped her near Kesarval Hotel, obstructed her path, and began striking her car in a threatening manner. Though she managed to flee the scene, the men followed her again and, near the Goa Velha bypass, Ainsley allegedly used a chopper to intentionally damage her vehicle (Reg. No. GA-03-Z-7124).
Based on her statement, Agacaim Police have registered an offence under Sections 126(2), 351(2), 324(2) read with 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, under Crime No. 39/2025. The case is currently under investigation by HC Ulhas Gaonkar (Badge No. 4501).
Authorities are working to identify the second suspect and verify further details through CCTV footage and witness accounts.
