MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have registered a case against an unknown male driver of a red Toyota Innova for allegedly driving rashly, blocking traffic and damaging another vehicle in a road rage incident on NH-66 at Camarkhajan, Mapusa.
The case has been registered based on a complaint filed by Mr Nivejay Zaidev Aldonkar, a resident of Pomburpa, Bardez. According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 11 at around 9.30 am when the complainant was travelling in his car (GA-03-AF-7053) on the NH-66 one-way road from Bastora towards Colvale.
Police said the accused, who was driving a red-coloured Toyota Innova (GA-06-E-8956), drove in a rash and negligent manner, endangering the lives of road users. Following a road rage dispute, the Innova driver allegedly parked his vehicle across the road, wrongfully restraining the complainant and several other commuters, forcing traffic to come to a halt.
The accused is also alleged to have abused the complainant using filthy language, threatened him with dire consequences, and damaged his vehicle by breaking the driver-side door glass and side mirror, causing financial loss.
A case has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
