PANAJI: Over 400 police personnel have been deployed across North Goa to ensure smooth and safe Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
Security has been tightened at Sarvajanik Ganesh Pandals and for night patrols in view of the large gatherings expected during the festival.
Police officials said advance meetings were held with pandal organisers, urging them to install CCTV cameras, maintain clear entry and exit points, and appoint civic volunteers for crowd management.
Regular inspections are being carried out by Police Inspectors (PIs) and Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) to monitor compliance with safety measures.
Authorities have appealed to citizens to extend full cooperation to the Goa Police to ensure peaceful festivities.
