NAVELIM: Reaffirming its commitment to community service and health awareness, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, recently organized a series of major healthcare initiatives, including a Blood Donation Camp and a Free Mega Medical and Dental Camp.
The Blood Donation Camp, held in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club, NSS, NCC (Boys & Girls), Health Cell, and the Goa Medical College (GMC) Blood Bank, saw an enthusiastic response with 73 successful donors, comprising both staff and students. The GMC medical team managed the camp, ensuring safety and smooth operations throughout the process.
Following this, the college hosted a Free Mega Medical and Dental Camp in association with Victor Hospital, Venus Optics, Goa Dental College, and the You We Can Foundation. The camp, open to the public, offered a comprehensive range of services — including diabetic and cancer screenings, breast examinations, blood pressure and sugar checks, pulmonary function tests, and consultations in general medicine, urology, pulmonology, physiotherapy, and nutrition.
Venus Optics conducted free eye check-ups and provided subsidized spectacles, while Goa Dental College offered oral prophylaxis, fillings, extractions, and root canal treatments. In total, 215 participants, including students, faculty, and community members, availed of the services.
These initiatives successfully combined preventive and curative healthcare with social outreach, underscoring Rosary College’s dedication to promoting health awareness, service, and social responsibility.
