PANJAI: The Department of Computer Applications at Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim, recently organized “Ensemble 6.0”, a tech-focused event for higher secondary students aimed at raising awareness about the latest trends in Information and Communication Technology. The program drew enthusiastic participation from 11 higher secondary schools across South Goa.
Ensemble 6.0 featured six key competitions: Webmasters (Website Designing), Logika (Logical Reasoning), Cyberwhiz (IT Quiz), Knock Out (EA Sports FC 24 Gaming), SketchIt (Digital Drawing), and War of Words (Debates on IT Topics). These contests tested students’ technical knowledge, creativity, problem-solving skills, and logical thinking. Participants also explored the college’s advanced BCA labs and seminar hall, gaining hands-on insight into the institution’s infrastructure and learning environment.
At the valedictory ceremony, Principal Prof. Helic Barretto lauded the students’ enthusiasm and stressed that the knowledge and experiences gained through Ensemble 6.0 would help shape their future careers. The prize distribution was conducted by Prof. Barretto, Vice Principal Rev. Dr. Jeronimo D’Silva, BCA Programme Coordinator Asst. Prof. Mildred Lemos, and Event Coordinator Asst. Prof. Dixita Gauns Dessai.
In the competitions, Pope John XXIII HSS, Quepem won Knock Out, while Rosary HSS, Navelim secured first place in Logika and War of Words. Fr. Agnel Multipurpose HSS, Verna claimed the top spot in SketchIt, and Shree Damodar HSS, Margao triumphed in both Webmasters and Cyberwhiz. The Overall Trophy was awarded to Shree Damodar Higher Secondary School of Science, Margao.
Ensemble 6.0 not only promoted healthy competition but also motivated students to explore careers in Computer Science. The event concluded on an inspiring note, leaving participants enriched with new knowledge, hands-on experience, and aspirations for their academic and professional futures in technology.
