PANJAI: The Goa University Inter-Collegiate Men’s Football Championship 2025-26 continued on Day 6 with exciting matches at Goa University Ground, Taleigao, and Rosary College Ground, Navelim. At Goa University Ground, Rosary College of Commerce & Arts, Navelim secured a dominant 8-0 victory over Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering & Information Technology, Shiroda, with first-half goals from Ashwek Jadhav (15’), Aerenn Figueiredo (20’), Flann Crasto (26’), and Ashnoy Gomes (32’), and second-half strikes from Jeff Dias (38’), Rohan Yadav (39’), Garrison Fernandes (56’), and Ashwek Jadhav (60’). Ashwek Jadhav was named the Best Performer.
In the second match at the same venue, P.G. Goa University defeated Goa College of Pharmacy 5-0. Goals were scored by Andrian Franco (3’), Abhay Naik (27’), Ansif Mohammed (47’, 63’), and Chrisval Gonsalves (59’). Goa College of Engineering, Farmagudi also claimed a 5-0 win over St. Joseph Vaz College, Cortalim-Marmagao, with Selwyn Fernandes scoring twice in the first half (3’, 18’), Alroy Rebello (22’), Ruthik Gaonkar (24’), and Vishal Bhamaikar (61’).
At Rosary College Ground, Navelim, Govt. College of Arts, Science & Commerce, Sanquelim thrashed Goa College of Agriculture, Ela, Old Goa 12-0, with a first-half flurry of goals from Ramnath Parab (2’, 7’, 16’, 29’), Nakul (18’, 23’, 27’), Heramb Sawant (20’), Omkar Gurav (25’), and Aayan Maldar (30’), and second-half goals by Rohan Yammatral (37’) and Aftab Desai (40’). VP’s Mandre College of Commerce, Economics and Management, Pernem defeated Govind Ramnath Kare College of Law, Margao 4-0, with Sumit Chopdekar opening the scoring in the 18th minute, and Swayam Mandrekar completing a hat-trick (48’, 54’, 70’). St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa overcame Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, Verna 3-1 after conceding an early goal by Muzammil Shaikh (5’), with Keanan Bhabe (50’, 55’) and Walden Menezes (58’) securing the win.
The next set of men’s matches is scheduled for September 29, 2025. At Goa University Ground, Taleigao, Govt. College Quepem will face P. Chogule College, Margao at 10:00 a.m., followed by Shree Damodar College, Margao vs S. Caculo College, Mapusa at 2:00 p.m., and Goa Medical College vs Nursing Institute, Bambolim at 3:15 p.m. At Rosary College Ground, Navelim, Shree Mallikarjun will meet Govt. College Borda, Margao at 9:00 a.m., followed by M.E.S College, Zuarinagar vs Agnel Institute, Assagao at 11:00 a.m., and Goa Multi-Faculty, Dharbandora vs G.V.M’s College, Farmagudi at 2:00 p.m.
