CANACONA – A free Borewell and Village Infrastructure facilities, including a free humanitarian aid box, are provided to the people of Gulem in the Shristhal Panchayat area.

Borewell infrastructure facilities have been inaugurated at the hands of AG RTN Ashesh Keni in the presence of President of Rotary Club of Miramar, RTN Snehalata Pednekar, ZAO of Canacona Block Kirtiraj Naik Gaonkar, Project Coordinator RTN Siddharth Deshpande, Ex-sarpanch (Shrishthal) Ganesh Gaonkar, Ex-Panch Damodar Chari,
The local village farmers group members of Vella Purush SHG, to whom Rotarians extend the facilities, were also present.
Earlier, customary religious rituals were performed through Krishna Lakhmu Gaonkar, one of the beneficiaries of the accessible Borewell facility; a brief function was held in Sports Clubs Community Hall, where the Rotary Club of Miramar also provided a free humanitarian aid box to the village farmer’s provided by Indian Red Cross Society, Panjim Branch.
According to sources, Rotarians have expended approx costs of 2 lakhs of rupees in this agriculture project as one set of their activities to assist Tribal farmers to double their income and strengthen economically small and marginal farmers belonging to Scheduled Tribes and other backward communities.
