BAMBOLIM: Services at Goa Medical College continued being affected for the fifth day as the junior and senior resident doctors were on strike in support of the victim of the Kolkata rape, demanding justice.
Since Friday afternoon, doctors associated with the Goa Association of Resident Doctors (GARD) have been on strike, demanding justice for the victim of the R G Kar Medical College in Kolkata.
Emergency services are still being provided, but regular services have been somewhat impacted by the strike, according to Dr Shivanand Bandekar, dean of GMC.
He claimed that because of the strike, the hospital is performing emergency procedures while “dated operations” are rescheduled.
According to Dr. Bandekar, the Out Patient Departments (OPDs) are operating efficiently since they are overseen by senior physicians.
