MARGAO: Demonstrating vigilance and commitment to passenger service, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Madgaon, successfully recovered and returned lost passenger belongings under its initiative, Operation Amanat.
On December 18, 2025, during routine checks on Train No. 11099, an on-duty RPF team noticed an unattended iPad in Coach H1. The device, valued at approximately ₹60,000, was immediately secured in safe custody. After completing the required formalities, the iPad was safely handed over to its rightful owner on December 19, 2025.
On the same day, RPF personnel recovered a carry bag containing a saree worth ₹5,000 that had been inadvertently left behind by another passenger in Coach B4 of Train No. 11099. The bag was taken into safe custody and later returned to the passenger on December 19, 2025, after due verification.
In another instance, on December 17, 2025, an iPhone 13 Pro valued at approximately ₹1,00,000 was found lying unattended on Platform No. 1 at Madgaon Railway Station. The mobile phone was secured by RPF staff during routine patrolling and was subsequently returned to the passenger on December 19, 2025, following completion of formal procedures.
All the passengers expressed their appreciation for the prompt and responsible action taken by RPF Madgaon. Through such timely interventions, the Railway Protection Force continues to reinforce passenger confidence and uphold Konkan Railway’s commitment to safety, security and efficient service delivery.
