MARGAO: Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel seized approximately 7.4 kg of cannabis and apprehended two suspects during surveillance at Madgaon Railway Station on April 9.
According to RPF sources, on-duty staff monitoring CCTV footage noticed two suspicious individuals carrying a bag on Platform No. 3. The bag was checked, leading to the recovery of around 7.400 kg of cannabis (ganja). Both individuals were detained and brought to the RPF post.
The seized contraband, valued at approximately Rs 7.5 lakh as per the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), was later handed over along with the accused to NCB Goa for further legal action.
NCB Goa registered a case vide Crime No. 04/2026 under Sections 20(b)(ii)(B), 8 and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, on April 9. Further investigation is in progress.
