GANGTOK: Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade is currently on a study tour of Sikkim, engaging with key stakeholders and attending high-level discussions aimed at enhancing regulatory frameworks and development initiatives in the region.
During his visit, Tanavade held meetings with representatives from the Power and Energy sector, local banks, the Tourism and Aviation departments, the Sikkim Renewable Energy Development Agency (SREDA), and officials from both the Government of India and the Government of Sikkim.
The discussions focused on sectoral growth, challenges, and collaborative efforts for sustainable development.
A significant highlight of the visit was his participation in a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Subordinate Legislation of the Rajya Sabha, held in Gangtok.
The meeting was chaired by MP Milind Deora and attended by fellow MPs Ranjeet Ranjan and C. Ve. Shanmugam, as well as senior officials from the State Bank of India.
The committee deliberated on key regulatory issues and examined the role of subordinate legislation in promoting transparency, accountability, and effective governance across sectors.
Tanavade’s visit underscores the commitment of the Parliamentary Committee to on-ground engagement and policy oversight to ensure responsive governance in line with national objectives.
