CALANGUTE: BJP MLA Michael Lobo today urged his government to adopt English as medium of instruction in government run primary schools to ensure these schools don’t close down.
“I urge the government to introduce English as a medium of instruction in government primary schools, alongside compulsory Konkani and Marathi languages,” said Lobo
He specifically requested this change for schools started by late Bhausaheb Bandodkar, citing that some students are opting for other schools due to the lack of English medium instruction, which may lead to government primary schools shutting down.
“Parents prefer English MOI and govt primary schools are affected. if this continues all Primary govt schools which was started by Bhau saheb Bandodkar will be shut,” he added
Lobo also said that our language is Konkani and Marathi no controversy on that.
“People who fight for these are admitting their kids/ grand children’s in good English medium schools. I spoke on education and not language,” he added
