RUMDAMOL: Panch Member Vinayak Volvoikar has raised serious concern over a road in Rumdamol that has been left dug up for nearly one and a half years, causing persistent inconvenience to residents.
He said that although patchwork was carried out four days ago, the work was of poor quality and failed to offer any real improvement.
Volvoikar appealed to PWD Minister Digambar Kamat to intervene immediately and direct the contractor to complete the long-pending work without further delay.
He added that if the contractor is unable to deliver work of acceptable standards, his licence should be cancelled.
Highlighting the hazards caused by the prolonged delay, he recalled that a child had suffered an electric shock during last year’s monsoon due to exposed underground cables — a serious safety risk that demands urgent redressal.
