ARAMBOL: A 37-year-old Russian national, Aleksei Leonov, has been arrested for allegedly murdering his friend, 37-year-old Elena Kasthanova, at her rented residence in Arambol.
According to police, the incident took place on January 15, 2026, at around 9:15 PM. The accused reportedly assaulted Kasthanova, tied her hands behind her back with a rope, and inflicted multiple injuries, including a fatal cut to her neck with a sharp weapon.
The complaint was filed by Uttam Naik of Arambol, and the case has been registered under crime number 05.26, sections 126(2) and 103(1) BNS. The accused is currently in custody as the investigation continues.
