MANDREM: Mandrem Police have registered an offence against a Russian national for allegedly staying illegally in Goa without valid travel documents.
According to police, the case was registered on March 21, 2026 at 8:01 pm based on a complaint filed by Police Inspector Girendre J. Naik of Mandrem Police Station. The accused has been identified as Aleksei Leonov, a Russian national residing in a rented room at Girkarwada, Arambol in Pernem.
Police said that prior to January 16, 2026, the accused was found staying in India and Goa without possessing valid travel documents, including a visa, thereby violating provisions of Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigner Act, 2025.
Mandrem Police have registered an offence under Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigner Act, 2025. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sarvesh Sawant.
