MANDREM: Mandrem Police have registered an offence against a Russian national for illegally staying in Goa without valid travel documents.
The case was registered at 10.34 am on December 12 based on a complaint filed by PSI Archana Sharma, attached to Mandrem Police Station. The accused has been identified as Volodin Aleksei (39), son of Alexander, a Russian national presently residing at Mandrem, Pernem, Goa.
According to police, on December 9 at around 5.00 am, during routine patrolling near Cottage Super Market, New Wada, Morjim, Pernem, the accused was traced in connection with Crime No. 109/2025 registered under Sections 281, 125(a), 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and Sections 134(a)(b) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Upon interrogation, police found that the accused was staying illegally in India without valid travel documents, possessing an invalid visa and passport, thereby contravening Section 23(a) of the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025.
Further investigation in the case is in progress and is being conducted by PSI Laximan Dessai of Mandrem Police Station.
