ARAMBOL: A 44-year-old Russian national, identified as Vladimir Oberman, was detained for staying illegally in India without valid travel documents, including a passport and visa. The incident occurred in Morjim, Pernem, on June 28, 2025.
According to a complaint filed by Police Constable (PC) 7380 Sarvesh Gawas of Mandrem Police Station, the accused was found in contravention of the Foreigners Order 1948 and the Foreigners Act of 1946. Oberman was discovered to be residing in Goa without the required documentation, violating immigration laws.
The complaint was registered at 18:59 hrs, and the authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter. The accused has been taken into custody for further proceedings.
