SIOLIM: In a swift operation conducted by the Crime Branch team, two Russian nationals were arrested in Goa for illegally residing in the state without valid visas. The arrested individuals, Andrei Bliznetsov (48) and his mother, Liudmila Bliznetsova (75), were detained on April 4, 2025, from a residence in Dando, Siolim, Bardez.
The duo was found living at the address of local resident Laxmikant Shirodkar, H. No. 2963/3, Dando, Siolim. They have been charged under Section 7(1)(3) of the Foreigners Order 1948 and Section 14 of the Foreigners Act 1946, which deal with the violation of immigration laws.
The operation was led by PI Kishor Ramanan, with assistance from LPSI Pragati Malik, ASI Shriram Salgaonkar, and PC Swapnil Simepurushkar. The investigation is currently ongoing under the supervision of Dy. SP Crime Rajesh Kumar and SP Crime Shri Rahul Gupta, IPS.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of their stay in Goa and their activities during their time in the state. The case highlights the strict enforcement of immigration laws in Goa, as the state authorities remain vigilant in curbing illegal foreign presence.
