Canacona: Bharat Ratna awardee and cricket legend Sachin R. Tendulkar will inaugurate the newly built ‘Kala Krida Angan’ Multipurpose Auditorium and Indoor Cricket Pitch at CPI’s Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, Canacona, on 22nd August 2025 at 11:00 am.
The state-of-the-art facility has been envisioned as “where champions train and legends begin” and is designed to provide world-class infrastructure for sports, cultural activities, and academics. It marks a significant milestone in the institution’s efforts to promote holistic education and nurture young talent in Canacona and across Goa.
The event will also be graced by several distinguished guests, including Chetan Manju Desai, Chairman of DPM’s Shree Mallikarjun & Shri Chetan Manju Desai College, Delem, as Guest of Honour, and Shailesh Sinai Zingde, Director of Education, Goa, as Special Guest. Rohan Gauns Dessai, Joint Secretary of the BCCI, will also attend as Special Guest, while Dr. Ajit G. Desai, a renowned interventional cardiologist from Mumbai, and Rajendra Desai, President of Shree Mallikarjun Devasthan, will be among the special invitees.
Leading the CPI family on the occasion will be Babuso Naik Gaunkar, President of the CPI General Assembly, and Shamba M. Naik Dessai, President of the CPI Managing Committee, along with members of the General Assembly, PTA, headmaster, principal, staff, parents, and students.
The inauguration of Kala Krida Angan is expected to be a landmark moment in the history of Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, opening new avenues for sporting excellence and cultural development in the region.
