PONDA: Sacorda Panchayat in Dharbandora Taluka has issued notices to around Seven Kiosk Owners operating in premises world famous heritage site Mahadev Temple at Tambdi Surla warning to issue fines if found with garbage menace, while the Kiosk Owners were unhappy over notice blamed monkeys for garbage menace.
Sarpanch Priya Khandeparkar said there were complaints from some people after noticing garbage in area at this famous spot, and acting upon it Panchayat had issued notice to kiosk owners for maintaining cleanliness in area.
She said that she understood the difficulties of kioskowners and there was no intention to hurt the locals. However proper solution would be find out discussing with ASI and taking locals into considerations.
The Kiosk owner panic with notice said they maintain the area clean and put garbage in dustbins provided to them. They blamed monkey for menace. They said monkey in forest area opens dust bins in search of food during night time spreads garbage all around. Due to Panchayat notice, the Kiosk operators have expressed their displeasure against the panchayat.
Mahadev Temple at Tambdi Surla is a 12th century temple Carved rock. It is ASI Protected monument and attract large number of tourist.
