CURCHOREM: The sacrament of First Holy Communion was received by 28 children at Guardian Angel Church, Curchorem on Sunday.
Fr. Vital Miranda, parish priest celebrated the Eucharistic along with Assistant Parish Priests of Fr. Ashliff Correia and Fr. Angelo D’Costa.
In his homily Fr. Correia said that Jesus is present in soul and body in the Eucharistic celebration and one needs eyes of faith to see it. “Your parents wore white dress to you all at the time of administering the sacrament of baptism and now you wear white dress to receive Jesus Christ through the holy communion for the first time which symbolizes purity and your innocence and that you should keep throughout your life.” Fr. Correia urged the children
While explaining the importance of Eucharistic Fr. Correai said that home is our first school and parents are the first teachers therefore it is their first duty to mould and bring up their children in a Godly way. “Talk to them about how much God loves them and the importance of the Holy Euchharist. Teach them the concept of right and wrong and create a culture of forgiveness.” said Fr. Correia and urged the parents to accompany the child to the altar of God.
Later a small get-to-gether was organized for the children to express joy and happiness in receiving Jesus for the first time in the life of children through communion.
