South Goa Collector Ajit Roy on Sunday de-notified the containment zone in Sada in Mormugao taluka and Curtorim in Salcete taluka.
The district administration also denotified micro-containment zone at Baina, in Mormugao taluka.
However, despite the demand from the people there has been no decision yet on the denotification of containment zones in Mangor Hill but it has been converted to micro-containment zones.
Sources said that over the next 10 days to have 3 small micro containment zones within the Mangor containment area consisting of a total of 17 houses.
“If there were no further cases, then as per the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines, on August 20, all the containment /buffer barricades at Mangor Hill would most likely be opened. Special meeting to discuss the Mangor containment zone was held on Sunday at the office of Deputy Collector Mormugao in which South Goa Collector, DYSP and local MLA was present,” said sources.
