Mapusa: Trainees from the SAG RCC Peddem Weightlifting Centre delivered a commanding performance at the All Goa Inter-Collegiate Men’s Weightlifting Championship held on September 9 and 10 at Jubilee Hall, Taleigao.
The Peddem lifters clinched 13 out of the 24 medals on offer across eight weight categories, underscoring their supremacy in the sport. Their impressive tally comprised three gold, six silver and four bronze medals.
The athletes trained under the expert guidance of Mr. Mahesh Kavlekar, NSNIS one-year diploma coach, and Mr. Dayanand Harmalkar, Kerkar Awardee senior coach, both from the Sports Authority of Goa.
The centre’s remarkable medal haul once again reaffirms its reputation as a cradle of weightlifting talent in the state. The achievement not only highlights the hard work of the trainees but also reflects the dedication and expertise of their coaches.
With this success, SAG Peddem continues to stand at the forefront of weightlifting excellence in Goa, inspiring a new generation of athletes to take up the sport.
