Vasco: Sports Authority of Goa’ Vasco gymnasium is in shambles since several months. These days the gym visitors are facing hardships due to the leaking of gym ceiling on several places.
All is not well with the SAG gymnasium of Vasco. This gymnasium which has produced some of the best athletes and bodybuilders who had brought laurels to the Goa State, is desperately in need of attention from the Sports Authority of Goa.
One visitor complained that he was shocked to see the buckets being placed in gym on multiple places. The roof leakage has went from bad to worse’ he said.
Another gymnasium visitor questioned that where they are suppose to workout when the water is dripping everywhere in the gym. He said I wonder why the SAG is not maintaining the gym.
It may be recalled that the Sports Minister Govind Gaude on May 17, had visited several sports complexes from Vasco area including this SAG gym from Vasco.
The minister had also said that timely maintenance of the infrastructure and proper use is needed.
During his inspection of the Bhutebhat sports complex, Gaude had assured to resolve the water leakage issue from the sports complex with proper interior lighting.
Later during his visit to the SAG gym in Vasco, he had also appreciated the maintenance work done by the gym instructor Mukesh Girap. Gaude had then suggested making the gym air conditioned and to introduce some sound system and other minor upgradation of the gymnasium immediately.
