Saligao: Saligao Police arrested a 42-year-old man during a late-night narcotics raid at Pilerne in Bardez taluka and seized suspected ganja worth approximately ₹50,000.
The offence was registered at 4.15 am on February 6, 2026, following a state complaint lodged by PSI David Costa of Saligao Police Station. Acting on specific and reliable information, police conducted a narcotics raid between 11.50 pm on February 5 and 2.30 am on February 6 near Madani, Pilerne, Bardez, Goa.
During the operation, the accused, Kisan, son of Vijay Narayan, aged 42 years, a resident of Moica Vaddo, Pilerne, Bardez, and a native of Saidupur, Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh, was caught red-handed in illegal possession of 531 grams of greenish-coloured fruiting and flowering tops of plants suspected to be ganja.
Police said the seized contraband is valued at approximately ₹50,000. The accused was arrested at 4.32 am on February 6 and lodged in the Saligao Police Station lock-up.
Further investigation in the case is in progress and is being carried out by PSI Dishan Naik.
