VASCO: Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar, accompanied by members of the Christian community, presented a request to the in-charge of Vasco Railway station on Monday morning regarding the provision of special train services for the annual Vailankanni feast pilgrimage.
Salkar mentioned that numerous devotees from Vasco had approached him, expressing the need for special train services to manage the additional rush during the Vailankanni Feast.
Salkar emphasized the importance of ensuring minimal inconvenience for devotees embarking on the holy pilgrimage.
He highlighted the need for punctuality in train schedules, longer halting periods, and an increased frequency of train services to accommodate the devotees adequately.
Moreover, Salkar mentioned plans to bring this matter to the attention of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in order to seek necessary facilities for the devotees undertaking the pilgrimage to Vailankanni from Goa.
Overall, Salkar’s representation sought to address the critical transportation needs of devotees participating in the Vailankanni pilgrimage, with a particular emphasis on the timely and convenient provision of train services during this significant religious event.
