PANAJI: The Panaji Court has granted anticipatory bail to the headmistress of a Sanguem-based school, who is accused of allegedly slapping a Class VI student seven times. The court has directed her to appear before the investigating officer as and when required during the ongoing inquiry.
An FIR has been registered against the headmistress under Sections 125A, 115(2), and 8(2) of the Goa Children Act. The incident was reportedly captured on CCTV footage and later went viral on social media, prompting widespread outrage.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the case, and legal proceedings are ongoing. Police officials confirmed that the viral footage is a key part of the inquiry, while the headmistress continues to comply with court directions.
