PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the Sanklap Scheme of the skill development department has been extended, and it will be in operation until March 2024.
“Sanklap Scheme of the skill development department has been extended, and it will be in operation until March 2024. New courses will be introduced under the KaushalScheme from the new academic year,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that job opportunities in Government establishments such as Public Works Department, Electricity etc. and also in Private sectors like Hospitality Management and Pharma Industries etc.
“This scheme is jointly funded by the Government of India and the State Government in the ratio 60:40. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs.170 Lakhs is sanctioned, and an amount of Rs.102 Lakhs is released by the Government of India during the FY 2019-20, and remaining 40% share is funded by State Government, i.e. 68 Lakhs,” said CM Sawant.
Chief Minister said that there are 10 Government and 03 Private Industrial Training Institutes in the State of Goa imparting training in Engineering and non-engineering trade courses.
“These 13 Institutes offering 42 regular trade courses, affiliated to the National Council for Vocational Education Training (NCVET) and/or the State Council for Vocational Training (SCVT),” he added.
He said that Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4..0 scheme is declared in the Union Budget. Meanwhile, Ministry has released a target of 1920 to eight Government ITIs under the Skill Hub Initiative of PMKY 4.0.
“Directorate has also started New Age courses such as Drone Technician, Mechanic Electric Vehicle, and Solar Technician for the last four years. This New Age Courses will be tentatively started in other ITIs also,” he added.
Sawant said in addition to the above, Short Term skilling courses are conducted under the Flagship Scheme of the Government of India, i.e. Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).
