Navelim: Sao Jose de Areal registered a commanding 4-0 victory over St. Rock YC Majorda to secure their place in the quarterfinals of the 44th Gold Silver Football Tournament, organised by Navelim Sporting Club at the Rosary Church Ground, Navelim.
Azilton Viegas starred for Areal, striking twice to give his side the upper hand. Josly Gomes and Daryl Costa added a goal each to complete the emphatic win. St. Rock YC Majorda’s Ashley Rodrigues had an opportunity to reduce the deficit but failed to convert his chance.
For his brilliant performance, Azilton Viegas of Sao Jose de Areal was adjudged Man of the Match and received the award at the hands of Salu Fernandes.
