Canacona: The inaugural Narkasur Vadh and Piken Narkasur competitions, organised by the Durga Seva Trust at Rajbag-Tarrir, Canacona, witnessed spirited participation from local youth groups, showcasing creativity, talent, and festive fervour.
In the Piken Narkasur category, Saraswati Mandal, Patnem clinched the first prize, followed by Rocky Boyz in second place and Family Boys in third. Saraswati Mandal also bagged the award for Best Krishna, while Aar Faar Ami, Tarikar won the title of Best Vadak.
In the Narkasur Vadh competition, Mokhard Gopal Krishna secured the top position, with Polem Youth and Malwada taking second and third places respectively. Mokhard Gopal Krishna also received the Best Krishna award, while Polem Youth won Best Vadak.
The event’s prizes for the Narkasur Vadh competition were sponsored by Vaishnav Pednekar, Founder and President of Durga Seva Trust, while Diwakar Pagui, former Chairperson of the Canacona Municipal Council (CMC), sponsored the Piken Narkasur competition awards.
Newly appointed CMC Chairperson Laxuman Pagui attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes to the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Trust President Vaishnav Pednekar said the organisation aims to promote cultural traditions, youth participation, and social welfare through such initiatives. He expressed gratitude to all participants, sponsors, and volunteers, especially acknowledging Pritam Pagi for her dedicated efforts in ensuring the success of the event.
