Panaji: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai launched a scathing attack on the BJP-led government in the Goa Legislative Assembly, alleging a complete collapse of law and order in the state.
Citing a spate of disturbing incidents—including a mysterious assault with no theft reported, a case where a police constable was slapped with no action taken, and the tragic murder of a five-year-old child—Sardesai accused the government of failing to ensure public safety.
Calling Goa a “haven for criminals” and a “vacation spot for IPS officers,” Sardesai criticised the administration for not empowering the police force and allowing justice delivery to falter.
“People no longer fear the law because the police force isn’t being empowered to act, and justice isn’t being delivered,” he said.
He demanded immediate intervention by the Chief Minister to review these cases and address the systemic failures within the state’s law enforcement machinery.
