MORMUGAO: Goa Forward Party supremo Vijayi Sardesai demands that all political parties support his private member bill and do an act which will have 80 per cent reservation to the Goans in employment. Sardessai feels there is a need to strike a balance between the Taxi operators and the aggregator’s issue in taxi business.
GFP supremo and Fatorda MLA Vijay Sardesai said that there is an example of the state of Haryana wherein 80 per cent reservation in jobs is there for the locals. Similarly, a private member bill will be introduced by me, and I feel that all the political parties should support this Bill and make it into an act because the majority of our population is productive below the age group of 35 years. The local youths need to have job opportunities.
Further commenting on the clash between the Goan taxi operators and the app-based aggregator’s entry into the Goa, Sardessai said that the Minister for transport needs to find an amicable solution and strike a balance into the matter.
“We should not forget that the taxi operators are also a Goan. The public as well as the taxi operators should benefit from this business,”Sardessai said.
Meanwhile, Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar inaugurated his new office at Sada near Sub jail for the convenience of the Mormugao Sada locals.
Amonkar slammed the present BJP state government for staying tight-lipped and staying inactive about the growing inflation, which has pushed the common man to its limits.
He also questioned the need for spending the taxpayers money to give so much protection by deploying state machinery at the Dabolim airport on Wednesday night to give security to the BJP rebel legislators from Maharashtra.
