MOPA: Mopa Airport Police have registered Crime No. 54/2025 under Section 3 read with Section 6(1A) of the Indian Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1933, in connection with the detection of a prohibited satellite phone at Manohar International Airport.
According to police, the case was registered on December 15, 2025, at 5.49 am on the complaint of Rahul Kumar Prasad, Sub-Inspector (Executive), CISF ASG Unit, Manohar International Airport, Mopa. The incident occurred earlier at around 2.20 am during security screening at the international SHA, when ATRS-B detected a satellite phone in the handbag of a passenger.
The accused has been identified as Jeffrey Allan Wilke (59), a United States national, resident of 2481 Perkins Lane W, Seattle, Washington, USA. He was scheduled to travel to Doha on Qatar Airways flight QR-523, seat number 2C, with a scheduled departure time of 4.10 am.
During questioning, the accused failed to produce any licence or permission from the competent authority for possessing the satellite phone, which is prohibited in India.
Police said the case has been charge-sheeted vide Charge Sheet No. 47/2025 dated December 15, 2025, and is pending trial before the Hon’ble JMFC, Pernem.
