PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant stated that he is working to ensure that all Goan students who want to take the NEET are assigned to a single Goa centre.
“Ministers Nilkanth Halarnkar and Subhash Phal Dessai brought it to my attention yesterday. I’ve chatted with them and written to them. It’s getting late. But I’m doing the best I can,” he remarked.
He was reacting to Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai’s statement about Zero Hour. Parents and children who answered the NEET exam expressed dread and anxiety about the examination centre assignment in other states.
“Three hundred aspirants from Goa are responding to NEET. The remaining 200 have been sent to centres like Hyderabad, Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh, while 100 have been assigned to the Goa centre. Kerala has a comparable problem. However, Rajiv Chandrashekhar also stepped in after all of its MPs banded together and met with Union minister JP Nadda,” said Vijai.
He further said that they now have confirmation that each candidate will receive a centre located solely in Kerala. In order to support all Goan candidates, I would implore the Chief Minister to start his central engine, meet with Nadda, and secure the Goa centre,” stated Sardesai.
