PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today has denied any possible rumours of Goa Forward Party merging into the BJP ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha Polls.
Sawant was speaking to reporters after paying Floral Tributes at Martyr’s Memorial at Azad Maidan along with Governor Pillai and Power Minister.
“There is no such move, please ask Vijai Sardesai,” said Sawant refuting rumours of possible merger of GFP with BJP led NDA ahead of LS polls.
Goa Forward Party MLA Vijai Sardesai has stated that it is a tactic by the saffron party to baffle public over his performance in assembly session.
Rumours were rife after Sardesai inspected the meeting place in his constituency Fatorda on account of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit in Goa on February 6, where he will address a government function.
“There is no proposal from the ruling party to join or tie-up. Rumour has no base. I will always raise the issues for the betterment of Goa,” Sardesai had said.\
