Slamming the Sawant Sarkar for failing Goa’s large sporting community, AAP Goa Vice President Sandesh Telekar Dessai said that AAP will stand with Goan Sportspersons. Dessai made the statement while inaugurating a carrom tournament in Fatorda today. Youth of Fatorda are very talented and take sport very seriously but the MLA or the Govt have taken no steps to help them achieve their dreams. AAP on the other hand is famous for creating world class sports facilities in Delhi which have already seen fruits. T𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚞𝚗𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚠𝚊𝚜 organised by the Fatorda Carrom Club in association with the Goa Carrom Association and was sponsored by AAP Goa Vice President Sandesh Telekar Dessai. It was also attended by AAP vice President Adv Pratima Coutinho and Goa Carrom Association Vice President Mr Jadhav and General Secretary Mr Pilarnkar.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 2𝚗𝚍 All Goa Carrom Tournament at Springfield hall, Fatorda organised by the Fatorda Carrom Club, Sandesh Telekar Dessai appreciated Goa’s sportspersons and the passion with which they play their sports. AAP is here to develop each and every individual and given the right infrastructure the sportspersons of Fatorda and Goa can truly shine. AAP has already shown the way in Delhi where it has built a sports university for future Olympians.
The Kejriwal government is gearing up to fulfill its promise of constructing “a world class” sports university on 79 acres of land at Ghevra village. The government is aiming to provide a campus in such a way that each student and sports person who takes up admission will be trained for winning an Olympic gold medal. Karnam Malleshwari, the first Indian woman weightlifter to win an Olympic medal, has been appointed as Vice Chancellor of the Delhi Sports University.
The campus will be designed in a way that all the sportspersons/students can easily spend 24 hours within the campus with their daily schedule, keeping themselves occupied as per their requirements.
“The Youth of Fatorda are Extremely talented and hard working. But sadly they receive no support for their passion for sports. Infact in the past 5 years the Sawant Sarkar has done nothing for Goan Sportspersons in general” Said AAP Goa Vice President Sandesh Telekar Dessai. “Infact only AAP has been working for sportspersons. Once AAP forms a Govt we will set up a sports university just like it has been done in Delhi to promote Goan Sportspersons.
