PORVORIM: The Porvorim Police have arrested a 47-year-old school van driver for the alleged molestation of a six-year-old girl.
The incident has sparked significant concern among parents in the Porvorim-Sucorro area regarding the safety of children using private school transport.
The accused has been identified as Allabaksh Saiyyadabade, a resident of the 20-point area near Rastoli Devasthan, Porvorim. According to police reports, Saiyyadabade was employed as a driver for a private Maruti Suzuki Eco van used to transport children to and from school.
Details of the Case
The arrest took place on December 21, 2025, following a formal complaint. The police allege that the accused used his position of trust as the child’s regular transport provider to commit the offense during the pickup or drop-off routine.
The Porvorim Police have officially registered the case as Crime No. 101/2025. The accused faces charges under several stringent sections of the newly implemented Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the POCSO Act.
