MARGAO: A woman scooter rider sustained grievous injuries after her two-wheeler was hit by a bus driven in a rash and negligent manner near Borkar Hospital in Margao on Friday morning.
Police said the accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. when the accused, identified as Ravi K. Talwar of Sao Jose de Areal, was driving a bus from the Old Bus Stand towards the Kadamba Bus Stand. On reaching near Borkar Hospital, the bus allegedly rammed into a Yamaha Fascino scooter moving ahead.
The rider, Maria Olga Vaz of Dramapur, Salcete, suffered grievous injuries to her right leg in the mishap.
A case has been registered based on a state complaint by Head Constable R. Dessai (4548) of Margao Town Police Station. Further investigation is underway.
