Vasco: Vasco Police have registered a case following a hit-and-run accident in which a scooter rider sustained injuries after being hit by an Alto car driven in a rash and negligent manner.
According to a State complaint lodged by HC 4661 Hemantkumar Gosavi of Vasco Police Station, the incident occurred on February 5, 2026, at around 14.05 hrs near Sangeetha Mobile and Gadgets Shop, Vasco.
An unknown driver of an Alto car, while proceeding from Vasco towards Goa Shipyard Limited, allegedly drove the vehicle rashly and negligently and, while attempting to overtake, dashed into a scooter being ridden by Dnyaneshwar Dabolkar, a resident of Mesta Wada, Vasco, who was travelling in the same direction.
As a result of the impact, the scooter rider fell onto the road and sustained injuries to the head and other parts of the body. The injured was initially shifted to the Sub-District Hospital, Chicalim, and was later referred to Goa Medical College (GMC), Bambolim, for further medical treatment.
Police have registered the case against the unknown driver and further investigation is being carried out by HC 4661 Hemantkumar Gosavi of Vasco Police Station.
