VERNA: A road accident occurred near Agnel Ashram Circle, Matol, Verna, 2024, leaving a scooter rider with grievous injuries.
The incident, reported to the Verna Police Station, took place around 3:15 PM when a Honda Aviator scooter bearing registration number MH-07-R-3927 collided with a Maruti Swift car (GA-08-R-8476).
According to the complaint filed by Head Constable Sudhakar Jadhav of Verna Police Station, the accused rider, identified as Sanjay Gawade, a resident of Housing Board, Gogal Margao, Goa, and originally from Amboli, Sawantwadi, Maharashtra, was traveling from Margao towards IDC Verna.
He was allegedly riding his scooter in a rash and negligent manner.
Upon reaching the Agnel Ashram Circle, the scooter reportedly dashed into the Maruti Swift car, which was heading from Panaji towards Margao.
The collision caused the scooter rider to fall onto the road, sustaining grievous injuries.
Verna Police have registered an offense under Sections 281 and 125(b) of the BNS.
Further investigation is being carried out by HC Sudhakar Jadhav of Verna Police Station to determine the exact cause of the accident.
