BAMBOLIM: Agacaim Police on arrested a 27-year-old security guard for allegedly assaulting a man with a metallic bangle (kadda) at the Super Specialty Block (SSB), Bambolim, causing him serious injuries.
Police said the accused, Bhagu Yedge, a resident of Sancordem, Dharbandora, and employed under the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), attacked the complainant Vithal Bagkar (32) of Porvorim at around 2.30 pm near Ward No. 61 on the sixth floor of the SSB.
The accused allegedly struck Bagkar with the kadda he was wearing, inflicting a bleeding injury on the victim’s left cheek.
Following the complaint, an offence was registered under Section 118(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 at Agacaim Police Station. Yedge was placed under arrest the same evening at 8.00 pm.
The investigation is being carried out by PSI Rushikesh Raikar under the supervision of senior officers.
