The self-defence Martial Arts training workshop was conducted to address the growing need for police personnel to be well-prepared and equipped to face uncertain law and order situations. Miss. Erica J De Sequeira, a 3rd rank holder in world professional Jiu-jitsu, and her coach Master Raunak Singh, with extensive experience as an army trainer, provided the training.
The workshop was attended by 35 lady police personnel from the Pink Force, who actively participated in the various self-defence techniques demonstrated during the session.
Given the increasing instances of violence both within the country and globally, the workshop emphasized the importance of self-defence skills for police personnel. The training was designed to empower the officers, build their confidence, and equip them to navigate dangerous situations effectively. By developing awareness in effective physical response, the workshop aimed to ensure the safety of both the officers and the public they serve.
During the training session, the trainers demonstrated various self-defence techniques. The participants were engaged in hands-on activities, learning how to respond to different scenarios that might arise in the line of duty. The workshop not only focused on physical skills but also on building mental toughness and situational awareness, which are crucial for handling high-pressure situations.
