PANAJI: Akashvani Panaji, in collaboration with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry and S.S. Dempo College of Commerce and Economics, hosted a day-long seminar aimed at tackling skill gaps in Goa to foster accelerated, inclusive, and resilient growth, in line with the G20 Agenda.
Attendees included Shri. Sanjit Rodrigues, IAS, Nodal officer for G20, Shri. Harilal Menon, Vice Chancellor of Goa University, Shri Shrinivas Dempo, President of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Shri Sunil Bhatia, Deputy Director General, All India Radio and Sanjay Punalekar, Programme Executive.
Shri Sanjit Rodrigues, in his address, shared insights gained from hosting the G20 Meeting in Goa. He encouraged students to delve into the details of the ‘Goa Declaration’. This declaration, emanating from the G20 Tourism meeting, outlines the trajectory of tourism development and its potential to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
Vice Chancellor Shri Harilal Menon forecasted changes in the employment landscape, driven by Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) innovations since 2010. He urged students to prioritize research.
Shri Shrinivas Dempo stressed the significance of such seminars in shaping students’ futures. He highlighted the importance of aligning education with the New Education Policy and preparing students for upcoming job opportunities.
The seminar included informative sessions on ‘Manufacturing Industry’, ‘Health and Wellness’, ‘Tourism and Hospitality’, and ‘Airport, Port, and Logistics’ to provide students with comprehensive insights.
