VASCO: A series of cow deaths in last few days have caused concerns to residents of Sada. Sources added that around ten cows had been found dead in the previous few days.
Councillor Prajay Mayekar said that residents suspected the cows could be posioned and demanded action on the culprit.
Councillor Damodar Naik said that it was shocking to see cows dying every day and told that Urban Development Minister Milind Naik had already alerted the Animal Husbandry Department to investigate the deaths.
Urban Development Minister Milind Naik said that he has already directed the police to keep a strict watch and called the doctors of animal Husbandry to carry out post mortem to ascertain the cause of death. Naik said that all stray cattle in the Sada area would be shifted to Goushala by tomorrow and will carry out a thorough enquiry with Animal Husbandry and police officials.
