BICHOLIM: A woman from Vathadev-Sarvan, Bicholim, has filed a complaint alleging obscene gestures and criminal threats by a local man at DC Hall, Bicholim.
As per police, the incident occurred on March 27 between 5 pm and 11 pm, when the accused, identified as Balkrishna Vemekar of Bicholim Industrial Estate, allegedly made sexual gestures by showing his middle finger and pointing towards his private parts in the presence of witnesses, thereby outraging the modesty of the complainant.
Police further stated that on March 28 at around 12.15 am, the accused allegedly called the complainant’s father-in-law, Gurudas Korgaonkar, and used filthy, abusive and sexually coloured language against the woman and her husband. He also allegedly issued criminal threats to the complainant’s entire family.
Police said efforts are underway to collect evidence. Notice under Section 35(3) of BNSS, 2023 has been issued to the accused. Further investigation is being carried out by LPSI Archana Sharma of Bicholim Police Station.
