PANAJI: Former RSS Goa Chief Subhash Velingkar today filed petition before the High Court of Bombay at Goa seeking anticipatory bail.
The hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow morning.
The anticipatory bail of former RSS Chief Subhash Velingkar was rejected by the Additional Sessions Court on Monday.
The Additional District Court denied interim relief to former RSS Goa Chief Subhash Velingkar in relation to the FIR filed against him for allegedly offending statements against St Francis Xavier.
In their say, the police had also said that Velingkar was absconding after commission of the crime and if anticipatory bail was granted, he would abscond and not cooperate with the investigation.
Police had also submitted that if the anticipatory bail was granted, then Velingkar could commit a similar type of offence in the future.
However, Velingkar, in his application, said that the ongoing claims regarding the relics of St Francis Xavier and the demand for a DNA test are largely
international.
