VASCO: The meeting convened to elect a Shigmotsav committee for the upcoming Shigmotsav celebration in Vasco turned stormy at Ravindra Bhavan Vasco on Wednesday.
After proposing names to elect the president, MMC chairperson Leo Rodrigues who chaired the meeting declared Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar as the president of the Shigmotsav celebration.
Some of the members have raised strong objections to the election of the new president, which they alleged that it was against the bye-laws and rules of the Shigmotsav celebration.
The meeting, however, was concluded without the election of other executive committee members for the shigmotsav celebration.
