PANAJI: Panaji Police have detained three individuals for allegedly impersonating candidates during the national-level Stenographer and Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) examinations held at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), one of the designated centres in Goa.
According to police sources, two of the suspects attempted to appear for the exams on behalf of other candidates by using forged identification documents. The third individual reportedly accompanied them to the venue and is suspected to be part of the conspiracy.
Authorities were alerted after discrepancies were noticed during the verification process at the examination centre. The suspects were taken into custody for questioning, and a case has been registered under relevant sections for impersonation and forgery.
Investigations are currently underway to ascertain the extent of the impersonation racket and whether more individuals are involved.
