CURCHOREM: A 40-year-old individual from Curchorem took his own life by leaping in front of an oncoming freight train at Curchorem Station, resulting in immediate death. The individual has been named Jayant Parmar.
Many people gathered at the railway station. Parmar had been renting a place in Curchorem for several years. According to locals, there is a lack of railway police at the station to help prevent such tragedies.
When there’s a need for railway police at the Curchorem station, officers must travel from Vasco. Locals believe that if a railway police presence had been available, this tragic suicide might have been avoided, as the man jumped onto the tracks just before the train arrived.
